Glorious Standing French Antique Sacred Heart Votive

This sacred heart is mounted onto a gilded brass ornamental stand with votive holder. This allows, when a candle is lit behind, the light to radiate through the blue glass and crystals. It originates from the south of France and dates towards 1900.

The sacred heart is large, measuring 8" x 6". The frame is cast from a mix of brass and bronze, forming channels for the mounting of bezel set glass stones. The entire form is adorned by more than 200 individually mounted glass stones. The central heart medallion is of cobalt blue glass with the initials "AM" ( Ave Marie) with crossing festoons etched at the center. There are two bands on the back standing arm which would hold a glass votive (no votive included).

The standing arm inserts into the base. The base is of brass, painted in gilt. There are two festoons of gilded brass leaves and flowers to the right and left. It stands 12 1/4" high and total width including festoons is 9 3/4". The base is 4 1/2" in diameter.

Both the heart and stand are in solid condition; no missing stones noted, the form is strong and intact.
It is a glorious religious adornment.
