A large RARE pierced sacred heart, it was part of a collection which came from an Ursuline convent in Tuscany (a 30 year collection). It dates circa 1880.

It is unusual in that it has a physical (can be moved) sword which pierces the heart. It is .800 silver and is heavy (heavier thickness than the bronze/brass French voto or the typical Italian voto). The heart has a very pronounced curve with a very detailed raised crown of thorns which is mounted into the sides. The hilt of the sword is beautiful with a stylized fleur de lis at the top.

It measures 14" x 7 1/2 x 1" thick. It is in amazing antique condition; we have not polished it, it can be polished to a high patina.

It is an incredible work in silver, of the quality that is never seen in today's market. It is a very special example, which has rested within a convent for 30 years.
